Shimmer & Shade Co. was created from a simple memory that stayed with me long after I grew up.

Growing up, when I was about to go anywhere without makeup; my mom would always tell me, “At least put some lipstick on so you don’t look pale.” I would smile, put on a little lip color, throw on a pair of sunglasses, and head out the door.

What I didn’t realize then was that it was never really about makeup.

It was about confidence!

Those small moments became a ritual — a swipe of color, a favorite pair of shades, and suddenly I felt more put together, more comfortable, and more like myself.

That feeling inspired Shimmer & Shade Co.
